What We Do
Centre of Excellence provides practical support, regular programmes and community activities for residents of Grahame Park and the wider Barnet area.
Our work is organised through our House Model, bringing together four areas: Services, Programmes, Activities and Campaign for Change.
Our Services
Our services are designed to help residents access information, understand their options and connect with the right support where needed.
Housing Support
We regularly support residents experiencing housing-related difficulties.
This can include:
- Help understanding housing correspondence
- Support with housing applications and forms
- Signposting around housing benefits
- Support communicating with housing providers
- Referrals to organisations and professionals who can provide specialist housing advice
Advice & Guidance
Residents can speak to our team about issues they are facing and receive practical guidance on available services and possible next steps.
This can include support with forms, accessing local services, understanding official information and being referred to organisations that provide specialist advice.
Translation & Language Support
We provide translation and interpretation support where needed to help residents communicate with organisations and understand important information.
The Centre has also previously delivered English as a Second Language (ESL) classes to support residents in improving their English and confidence in everyday communication.

We support residents who are looking to improve their employment prospects or understand available career pathways.
Previous activities have included:
- CV workshops

Where specialist support is required, we can help residents connect with relevant organisations and professionals.
Our Programmes
Our regular programmes provide opportunities for children, young people, adults and older residents to participate in activities, access support and connect with others in the community.
Mother & Daughter
Our Mother & Daughter programme provides activities and sessions for mothers and daughters to spend time together, improve communication and strengthen their relationships.
Sessions can include group discussions, creative activities, workshops and community events.
Legends Club
Legends Club provides regular activities for older residents, with a focus on social connection, health and wellbeing.
Activities have included community lunches, health awareness sessions, guest speakers and social activities.
Changemakers
Changemakers is our youth programme, providing children and young people with structured activities, mentoring, sport, trips and development opportunities.
The programme provides positive activities outside school hours while supporting confidence, communication, teamwork and personal development.
Grahame Park FC
Grahame Park FC is our free grassroots football programme for local children and young people.
Weekly Friday sessions provide structured football in a safe environment, with approximately 50 to 100 young people attending depending on the time of year.
The programme also supports the development of local coaches and volunteers.
Tea & Talk
A regular and safe space for women and mothers in the community to meet, talk openly and build friendships with others who may share similar experiences. Many participants do not have another space like this locally. Sessions also include shared reading and discussions around issues that matter to them, including parenting, health, cancer awareness and other concerns raised by the group.
