Mental health remains one of the most stigmatised issues in many minority communities — especially among Somali families in Barnet. At the Centre of Excellence, we’re working to change that narrative by creating spaces where vulnerability is met with compassion, not shame.
Our mental health and wellbeing programs are designed with cultural understanding at their core. From community support groups to our popular Tea & Talking sessions, we offer safe spaces for open conversations, emotional wellness, and connection.
We also run mentorship and life coaching, where individuals are matched with culturally competent mentors who guide them through personal challenges and transitions. Our Pamper Project, which includes wellness treatments like massage and skincare, is a reminder that self-care is not a luxury — it’s essential.
For parents and children, we offer workshops to bridge generational gaps, helping families understand one another better and build stronger emotional bonds.
Mental health is not just about treatment — it’s about community, care, and cultural safety. At the Centre of Excellence, we’re helping people see that asking for help is a strength, not a weakness.
